Many of our new prints are sustainably made, including Marguerite, Positano Stripe, Tamarin, Le Damier, Arielle & Chamarel. These stories are printed on fabric made with regenerated nylon yarn derived from pre consumer waste (waste that never actually made it to the consumer for one reason or another: scraps, rejects, trimmings are reproposed into something new rather than trashed). Thefabric still maintains the durable, soft hand-feel and premium quality we are renowned for. The next milestone is to extend this fabric further into the ranges as well as initiating more R&D towards using more eco-friendly materials.
Our design team work with manufacturers who are aligned with our values on sustainability and certified with the Global Recycle Standard. GRS serves to meet the needs of companies seeking to verify the recycled content of their products (both finished and intermediate) and to verify social, environmental and chemical practices responsible for their production. The objectives of the GRS are: to de ne the requirements to ensure specific content characteristics and good working conditions, and that harmful environmental impacts are minimized.
The shift towards a more sustainable mindset extends beyond garment design and process. Our packaging will follow suit starting off with swing tags and sew in labels which have now been switched over to recycled materials. The journey to change will become an essential part of the overall brand/company ethos as the responsibility is ours in minimising waste and embracing best practice for a sustainable future.
